The Fighter Collection operates a fleet of nineteen fully airworthy
World War II aircraft. Most are fighters, both American and British,
although we do have a flying Harvard IIb
trainer too.
The aircraft all have some significant history to them, many accounting
for more than one enemy aircraft during World War II, some even seeing
service in later conflicts too, and others being the sole example of
their type in Europe.
All aircraft have been fully restored to airworthy standard and are
each painted to represent significant aircraft in their respective
theatre of operations. This page will illustrate the past exploits and
current status of each of the aircraft, but this stuff takes time to
build up so please bear with us while the details appear to be a bit on
the short side.
As TFC are also very actively involved in restoring wartime airframes, you will find machines
progressing to this page from the
Restorations page, elsewhere on this
site.
The aircraft are flown on a regular basis at many airshows during
the year, both in the UK and further afield to airshows in Europe,
appearing frequently in France (usually La Ferte Alais) and in
Switzerland where the aircraft are flown against a mountain backdrop,
to the obvious delight of the photographers in the crowd.
This years UK shows are listed elsewhere on this site, but will always culminate in the
Flying Legends
show - two days of wall to wall Warbirds, theatre set pieces with many
aircraft and arguably the biggest Warbird formations this side of the
Confederate Air Force.
Take your pick of the best Collection in Europe...
If you can help with the histories of any of our aircraft, then please
