An Evening with TFC, 8th March 2009
As exclusively announced in Fighter Log Winter Editon 2008
Once again we invite you to an ‘Evening with TFC’ which will be held in Hangar No 2 at Duxford on Sunday the 8th March 2009 between 5 pm and 8 pm. The event will be open to all Friends and their families and will include a presentation by our guest speaker and a tour of the Collection by some of the pilots, engineers and volunteers. This is your chance to get close to the aircraft and talk to the people who fly them and maintain them.
The theme for the evening will be ‘engines’. We will start the evening outside on the airfield, (so wrap up warm), where we will start up and run a few of the fleet, hopefully under a clear crisp moonlit sky, where you can experience the sights and sounds of powerful warbirds. Let your imagination take you on a journey back in time.
This will be followed in the hangar by a further talk by our guest speaker, John Beattie, General Manager of RNHF.
A hot buffet meal will be provided, following which, Friends will be able to tour the hangar and get a closer look at the fleet.
A small charge of £25 per ticket will be necessary to cover expenses for the event; however there will be no charge to enter the Museum to attend the event if arriving at 5pm.
There are only a limited number of tickets available for this event, so book early to avoid disappointment. Please send your application to Friends Event, Friends of The Fighter Collection, Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambs CB2 4QR using the form on the rear of the address sheet which should have your membership number included. Please indicate the number of tickets required. Cheques should be made payable to Friends of The Fighter Collection.
This event is now sold out.
