A freshly overhauled engine is back with us in the hangar now, having returned only very recently from the United States. Whilst the engine was out, we had a good long hard look at the engine bearer frame and found some small cracks which needed tending to. In the way of all good plans, the frame is due to be returned to us early in the week commencing 19th June from Marshalls in Cambridge where its been having its remedial therapy, and TFC engineers will set to and reunite all the parts of the business end of the aircraft as soon as possible. Ground runs to check the engine and all the aircraft's support systems will be followed by a series of air tests, all with the intention of putting the seven-ton crowd pleaser where it belongs for the Legends show - 50 feet above the ground and crowd centre. All the work will put the aircraft in good stead for its annual check which is not due until later in the year. | |
