1999-01-10Frames to be remade on the Spit 22 fuselage

Some metal damage, stress tears, have been noted in the rearmost three frames on the Spitfire Mk22, PK624. The surrounding skins appear to be unaffected by whatever caused the problem with the frames, but as many of the rear fuselage skins are being replaced as part of the rebuild anyway, there is no huge impact to the rework that needs to be done on this aircraft.

The various quotes for the remake of the fuselage frames will be coming in over the time that the airframe itself will be out of the hangar for the floor painting.
